Cinnamon Bread found new recipe to try....


Good morning ya'll, I found this new recipe this morning for Cinnamon Bread, it looks great and seems simple enough to make...I have done a Martha recipe so this will be a new one for me... I was thinking it would be nice to have for Christmas morning prepare it the nite before and early Christmas morning Pop it into the oven for everyone to smell and wake up to.....well here's the recipe

Perfect Cinnamon Bread

For the dough:
1 cup milk
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup butter
6 1/2-7 1/2 cups all purpose flour
6 T granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsps salt
2 Tbls yeast
3 eggs

For the filling:
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsps ground cinnamon
2 Tbls melted butter

Dough:
Heat milk, water, and butter in a medium saucepan until slightly warm.
At the same time, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl until thoroughly combined.
Add egg and warm liquids to the flour mixture and kneed for about 3-5 minutes.
Place the dough in a greased and covered bowl and let rise for 35-40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Divide the dough into three equal pieces. Roll each piece out into a long rectangle and dust with melted butter. Sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon sugar on top of the butter and roll into a loaf.
Place loaves in greased loaf pans and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until slightly brown.

Cinnamon Cupcakes

Ingredients:
3/4 cup of plain (all purpose flour)
3/4 cup cake flour
1/2 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk

Makes 14 cupcakes

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C (350 F). Line muffin tray with paper patty pan liners.

Sift together flours, baking powder and cinnamon.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Beat in eggs, one at a time until combined. Reduce speed and add flour mixture, alternating with milk, and beating until combined.

Divide mixture between cups. Bake approx 20 minutes and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Frosting:
1 1/4 cups of icing (confectioners ) sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon milk

With electric mixer, bear all ingredients until smooth. Using a round piping nozzle, pipe onto cooled cupcakes. Optional: Dust with cinnamon sugar to finish.

  1. Yummy! My Mom would make cinnamon buns over the holidays, which were just delicious..she would put cream cheese in the centre with icing..they were just too good. This Cinnamon bread recipe sounds great..I will have to give it a go (as well as the cupcakes!).
