Early Saturday morning Sun shinning in the window...

I just love the morning sun in my kitchen window....Don't you. I got up and it was shinning bright as could be. So I went and got my rectangle serving tray that I found at Mom's and a sm. piece of linen to cover over the top and my White & Blue Flowered Tea Pot from the Asian Store.
And Put on some water to boil...went out into the Garden and picked two small white Roses and some other tiny flowers for a tiny blue vase.
I love the blue flowers with the white touches, they remind me of spring flowers running down the wall...so sweet...
There's nothing like the Garden in the morning when everyone is sleeping and your browsing around in your pj's...hehehe....
Came back in with my tiny flowers and put them in a blue little vase...filled my Tea Pot up and got my white Tea cups & saucers and a sm. little bowl for some vanilla sugar...
Put the crocheted tiny tea pot doily underneath...then went and got a little bit bigger bowl for some apple cobbler that I made the nite before..yummmy...
(sorry the picture came out a little bit blurry) This is Paula Dean's Peach cobler
Here is a recipe is you want it..I just changed it to Apples instead of Peaches.
Ingredients

4 cups peeled, sliced peaches (APPLES)
2 cups sugar, divided(AND I USED A LITTLE LESS SUGAR IN THE FLOUR PART.)
1/2 cup water
8 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups milk
Ground cinnamon, optional

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.

Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt.

Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.

To serve, scoop onto a plate and serve with your choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
I liked it very much...it was wonderful with Tea in the A.M.

I love this piece of linen I have had this for along time and found it in my storage and brought it home and washed it up...

It's just a small little piece just right for the tray...it made it look so pretty..
Then I made a nice salad for lunch, I figured I had a lot of calories for breakfast so I should tapper it down...
I used my melmac (dont know if I spelled it rite) turquoise salad bowl & lit bowls
I used some Ice Burg Lettuce and went into the Garden and picked some Romaine...washed it up. I had fresh Beets, Red onions, Fresh peas, Shredded Carrots, Black olives,Tomatoes, Pepper Jack Cheese,Pepperchini Peppers, however you spell it...lol...I did use some Ranch Dressing ...
Well I picked some more little flowers. Yesterday, I spend the day crocheting Liliana's blanket. I got it all together and now I'm just going around a little bit more to make it a little bit bigger for her. Going to buy some other yarn maybe today or tomorrow then I will be done soon well ahead of time for her B-Day...Phew...the hardest part is to put the squares together I think...well My blanket is almost dry and I think that is it for today...Thank you for your recent comments. I enjoy them...wishing you a most lovely weekend..with love Janice

  2. I just plain fell in love with your lovely tray liner! The very thing I look for in garage sales. It made your tray so special.
Fresh greens right from the garden..what could be better??
I love Paula Dean's cooking so I will try this recipe with the peaches. It sounds wonderful.
Have you ever made her turnovers? She made them with apples but I used canned cherries and they were wonderful but HAVE to be eaten when they are made. Otherwise they will get soggy.
They were deepfried in a frying pan.. You used biscuit dough found in cans in the market..roll each one out into a circle and put the cherries (or apples) in the center then fold over and crimp then fried to a golden brown and placed on paper towels and dusted lightly with powdered sugar. So delicious and fattening of course! :)
    I love your blog!!
