So I ran off the Salvation Army/Goodwill

I came to Mama's in the morning to do my bible study. . . And soon after I thought I know that I should but I have this huge urge to.. So I thought to myself I need to go get gas and being lol that the Salvation Army is right around the corner from there might as well go.. I don't have to buy anything. I can just look.. So off I went out the door Jumped in the car and off I went.. Not really expecting to get anything...I arrived there and Wow to my surprise they have gotten extremely expensive I couldn't believe how rediculous the prices were.. I huffed and puffed at them.. just insane.. Might as well go to Ross and buy some things... There were several things I wanted but wasn't about to pay that price.. If that was the case I could just have went on Ebay and paid there prices.. just silly.. I did manage to get a couple of things...

This is a comforter.. like brand new, but before this I looked at another and I almost chocked they wanted 30.00 dollars for this warn crappy one.. and I thought when I saw this it would be the same if not more.. But guess what it was only ten dollars.. That's it just ten.. I was like this one is made much much better a better quality and more newer and yet it was only ten dollars.. but of course I didn't complain to long I snatched it off the hanker and went on.. being perfectly happy.. I bought this and a tupperware blue pitcher and an older White one from tupperware.. which was in great condition.. I always make sure I smell them as well to make sure they weren't used for some odd things.. lol.. but they where perfectly find.. I also found one more good deal.. and Johnson brother's church hill plate in Blue & White which I forgot to take a photo of.. It was marked 7.50 which is still great but it happened to be 50 percent off.. So that was a awesome deal.. satisfied with what I had found but a little bit sad because there were other things I would have bought but too expensive.. So I thought what the heck the Goodwill's not to far I'm going to see what they have today haven't been there for a while to this one.. I always seem to find good Linens there.. and it's not a big place and their Linens are always so cheap..

I first found these adorable little lucheon sets.. so cute.. there was six but I only got four.. and get this they are only 2.49 ea.  Fabulous .. they are just to cute.. can't wait to use them...

Underneath are Valances, lovely browns, burgandy oranges, Little bits of greens.. they are beautiful in my opinion.. with tassels and beads.. .. for only $2/49 ea.  but these are brand new.. they have to go to the cleaners but honestly I think they are well worth it.. I doubt the cleaning will be that much for four of them..

Then I found this lovely Iron stone Pitcher.. It a bit larger in person.. It's really beautiful and great conditon as well I did pay 4.00 dollars for it but I wanted it cause you just don't see them anymore and I have been waiting.. It's nice and heavy.. It's stamped on the bottom but I can't make it out..

And what about these Hydreageous.. they look real.. but there not.. Some lady said she wanted to take them from me.. lol They were  $2.49.. and look close to the right side of the photo.. and Avon piece.. all the parts weren't there but I loved it just the same and 99 cents who can go wrong..

So pretty...

I have a Turquoise one, with the little bowl and top..

But I just had to have this one.. in Blue..
well O I almost forgot the last thing I found there.. and it had no price marked on it..
So I asked and the Man told me hold on cause he was busy..
I brought it up to the counter and told him I'm pretty sure that I want it so hold it for me

Here's the top of it, Isn't it pretty and so Victorian looking, can you guess what it is???

The front, it has several knicks but I really don't care I fell in Love with it lumps and bumps and all
well he told me it was 15.00 I was like really it has so many scrapes etc.. So I told him what about 10.00
He yelled for the manager and she came over. And I asked her can we go down to 10.00 or something.. it has many knicks.. She looked at it and said 11.99 and I said great and sold.. lol It's perfect for Mama's Rose cottage..

It just fit into the trunk.. Phew thank goodness.. with the Comforter to the right.. was so happy ..
So Off I drove with a good feeling now. the Conforter is drying already and I have the little truck inside the kitchen for now.. I left everything inside for now..
For safe keeping so to speak.. It was a good day in all
Bible study we accomplished a lot
and I'm satisfied now..
Have a wonderful evening
with love

p.s I also forgot to tell you I had picked up the new Romantic Homes.. Guess what was featured inside?

That little Blue Avon bottle, they featured the whole piece but I thought it to be a funny coincidence..

Visit to the Tea Thrift shop....

* ~ ` First of all let me share my new tea pot with you.. I have been wanting one of these forever now.. They are Sadler tea pots.. but they have all kinds of variations of this the ring part come in different colors patterns ect.. but late last night when I was up online surfing.. I found this one for only 20.00 and no shipping.. I just love it.. It reminds me as Grandmother's house.. so sweet..  So yesterday I decided to get up and get out on this house and air my overloaded brain out.. Funny I thought how everyone thinks my Mama left me some grand great thing.. No Not she left me a huge grand headache.. So anyhow I needed a break from it all.. So I left as is in some old clothes that were clean no doubt but a big raggity.. for cleaning but I didn't care .. I jumped in the car and off I drove a couple miles if that to the Tea shop.. It had just opened they didn't have much. but I found some lovely things.

One being these lovely sheer gloves with eyelet lace on top.. they fit me just perfect, You say where am I going to wear them to.. Church a tea party just wear them.. they are wonderful.. perfect for me.. Seems as if I browsed around for hours but I'm sure it was a hour...

I found this golden yellow table cloth. .I have  Blue & White and and Turquoise and White..  but the others don't have crocheted edgings on them.. it's very sweet in great condition...

A little later I turned to the other side, and found a basket with old photos, which I had picked up a few in another place ... I thought I would put them on the wall in my new room if and when that happens.. she is dressed in white lace.. she just needs my gloves..  very pretty lady..

And look at this.. Right next to the photos, there was this like a three drawer thing but covered in a beautiful worn Rose paper that had the three drawers but it wasn't wide it was maybe 8 inches wide.. so lovely it had doilies inside.. and after I was finished looking and didn't see anything that I wanted.. I caught a glimpse of something Blue and of course right away I turned back and looked further inside to find this dear thing.. I was so thrilled to pull it out and it was in perfect condition.. it was either 6 or 7 but for me was well worth it if I can copy it.. and I believe I can.. Next project I'm sure hehehe... I'm in love with it.. but it's made with even a finner thread not sure if I can do that.. but will see either way I can still use larger thread and make it.. ..

Can wait to get started.. it will be a while though I'm just finishing up a doily.. which you can visit my crocheting blog to see @ http://beedoily.blogspot.com/  Just click the link and it will take you there.. I have been showing you how to make it so several post down it starts.. Check it out... Now back to my goodies..

So at the Tea shop, I found this which I had been looking for a Red tea pot Plain ole Red and it's a newer one but just the same I like it.. it's a deep Red.. I found a Old 50's Runner to match..

It's a lovely runner...

I washed everything up and got my new hammered tray and this morning served me tea in my new Red pot and used my Rose Chinz Tea cup.. they matched just fine..

I really love this pattern.. it works well with different Tea pots..

Isn't this cute, this was down under something and it was only 4 dollars.. it has a little rust around the edges of the rim but the inside is clean.. I just think it gives it a little more character.. I was thinking to give it to my older Daughter..

As I was signing out to go, I caught glimpse of this.. so sweet.. It's for your lose tea.. you fill it and put it into your tea cup then pull it out and place it on the it's little tray.. I had to have one.. I would like to get a couple of more for a Tea Party..
I love it.. so cute great idea..

And there was this little cute Southern bell runner.. with Red trim.. lol I think I was on a Red Day..
Cause I bought this too.
two Apron's Red & White
and
Yellow and White one too.
so maybe a Red & White and Yellow & White thing..

Sweet Pockets..

Look at all the work on it.. it's almost like new..   the Red & white a little bit worn.

I think it was  a great get away..   don't you

O I can't forget my bag made by a local person.. so sweet.. I remember they had the flower quilt part for sale they had several.. she must have bought them and made the bags.. I'm always happy to support a local person's items..
but this is just too cut and everything I bought fit nicely inside..

was a good idea..

Part of a tea towel with sweet Embroidery on it.. they made it a large pocket in the front..

and last on the corner and sweet crocheted flower.. Loving it totally..

It all fit inside perfectly and off I went out the door feeling much at ease and happy for all the wonderful things I found and were able to purchase..
Happy Saturday

Grilled Mediterranean Chicken and Quinoa Salad

( It's nice because Gina breaks everything down for you and makes it healthier as well )

Servings: 6 • Size: 1 heaping cup • Old Pts: 4pts • Points+: 5 pts
Calories: 180 • Fat: 8 g • Carb: 8 g • Fiber: 1 g • Protein: 20 g • Sugar: 1 g
Sodium: 255 mg (without salt) • Cholesterol: 7 mg

Ingredients:

16 oz skinless thin sliced chicken cutlets
kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary or oregano
    juice of 1/2 lemon
    1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
    1/2 cup uncooked quinoa
    3/4 cup water
    1/4 cup red onion, diced
    juice of 1 lemon
1/4 cup kalamata olives, pitted and sliced
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 cups cucumber, peeled and diced (from 1 English)
    1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
    1/3 cup crumbled feta
kosher salt and fresh pepper, to taste

Directions:

Rinse quinoa for about 2 minutes, using your hands to make sure all the saponins are removed.

Fill a medium pot with water, add quinoa and salt to taste and bring to a boil. When the water boils, reduce heat to low and cover; simmer covered 15 minutes. Remove from heat and keep covered an additional 5 minutes without lifting the lid; then fluff with a fork and set aside in a large mixing bowl to cool.

Meanwhile, season chicken on both sides with salt and pepper, garlic and rosemary. Drizzle both sides with the lemon juice and 1 teaspoon olive oil and pat into the meat with your fingertips. Refrigerate 20 minutes while you prepare the grill.

Preheat the grill on high heat, clean the grates and oil them to prevent sticking (or use a grill pan indoors sprayed with oil).

Arrange the chicken on the grill and cook until cooked and firm, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board, then slice into 1-inch pieces.

While the quinoa cools, dice all the vegetables. To the large work bowl with the cooled quinoa, add the red onion, olives, cucumber and tomatoes to the cooled quinoa, and squeeze the lemon over it.

Drizzle the remaining tablespoon olive oil over the quinoa, then add grilled chicken, feta, salt and pepper to taste and toss well. Taste for salt and adjust as needed, add more lemon juice if needed.

Makes over 6 3/4 cups

p.s. I feel pretty good this morning got a lot of junk out the garbage man was really sweet this morning he asked did I want him to take the pile of left over things for free it wasn't very much but I think everyone was done with it.. So the kitchen space is looking less and less full.. Finally I wish you all a most wonderful day
