Plum Tart/cake

WGood morning dearests,
I hope you are all well..  It is seeming to be a wonderful start to the morning here in San Francisco..  The sun is shinning and no real wind, just a slight breeze here and there..YAY! <((*_*))>

                                   PLUM TART / CAKE
So so yummy in my OPINION..  You will have to give it a try..  I found it on Pinterest surfing It was printed in the New York Times for many years repeatedly from what I understand back in the 80's..
Many of the readers made many variations of it.  So I used one of the suggestions for mine and
I truly enjoyed it.  And apparently I wasn't the only one cause is disappeared quickly... <((*_*))>
Here is mine just before going in the oven..  I also dotted it a bit w/ butter
So Here Is The Recipe for You...  So simple but tasty perfect for teatime...

                                    PLUM TART / CAKE
 Ingredients:
3/4 cups of sugar.  (I used brown sugar)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened, plus extra for a bit of dotting on topping
1 cup of flour unbleached sifted  ( I used this mixture, 1/3 cup corn meal and 2/3 cup flour)
1 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 Eggs
24 halves Purple Plums. ( it's not necessary I used Three Large Purple Plums halfed, quartered, then halved each of those.)
I believe you can pretty much use whatever fruit you have.
Additional:
Sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and I also used broken Walnuts
I mixed brown sugar and walnuts to sprinle on top.

1. Heat oven to 350. Degree's
2. In a bowl cream the butter and sugar together till well mixed and fluffy.  Add the sifted flour baking powder pinch of salt and slightly beaten eggs.  Mix well.
3. Spoon the batter into a spring form 8,9,10 inches ( as you can see I used my Temptation pie dish )
place the plums down over the batter however you wish.  Sprinkle them lightly with lemon juice then
sugar.  I used the br. Sugar and walnuts mixed together after sprinkling with lemon juice and then a ever so lightly dust of cinnamon, that is optional to you.  Dotted with butter.
4. Bake for one hour.  Myself I should have took it out at 50 minutes.  So check around 50 minutes because you know each oven is different.
You can serve sightly warm if desired.  Or cooled with whip cream.  Refrigerate or freeze.  To serve tart that was frozen defrost and heat @ 300 briefly.
I hope you try this for teatime...  I enjoyed it...  With my Vanilla Chamomile tea...

Fresh whipping cream,  heavy whipping cream with a bit of powdered sugar... Beat till stiff..

Yummmy so delishious...  A nice end to the day...

HAVE A MOST WONDERFUL LOVELY DAY WHERE EVER YOUR AT...   MAKE YOUR OWN SUNSHINE TODAY...
                              With love Janice <((*_*))>

So now it's Raining, really

Good morning everyone,  it is raining lighty maybe it is a April shower...  We have had three days of crazy wind, but only in the early afternoon throught the night.  Then in the morning was calm to start all over again...  Just silly...
The first morning was so lovely I had my first tea in the garden...  And thought I really need to
get my seeds in...  It is way past due, because of the ugly weather...  Hers's My golden opportunity...
I took out my my Yellow Chintz teapot that came from England I so love the lady for shipping it to me...  She normally did not ship to the states...  And everytime I think of it she sent me the teapot a
Creamer and Sugar for 29.00 dollars.  It warms my heart to know that there are still kind people in this world...   A dream come true...
I wanted this pot since 1994 when this version came out...  I would see it in the Victoria magazines...  I would dream but could not afford it and at that time I did not know much about
teapots or I was not really really into them like now, but I surely have developed a love for them
now...
Since I do not have a tea cup that matches I picked my rich Blue & White Willow cup from
Japan which I love as well...
Then I picked some tiny flowers and put them in Mamas little crystal vase...

A pretty White Rose through the fence...

I have switched the garden around a bit...  They say it is good to change the areas of your vegetables each year...
I changed this part a bit...
I put the lattices here to put my green beans and cucumbers, let's hope it work's...
I planted seed's here, radishes, green onion's, beet's, ice burg lettuce, just a little bit because
It will be just me who eat's them...  I washed up my little oval bird bath and moved it here to...  Last year the darn raccoon's kept making it dirty,  lol maybe they won't see it here...  Haha...

That is the other side of the garden I planted the tomato's there and I will put the zucchini
there too.  I planted the zucchini seed's in small planter's in the little hot house...   I get a lot of icky slug's and they will eat them up before they grow high enough...
The apple tree in next stores garden...  The apple's are forming already...
I like the fact that it hang's over into my garden...
My broken teapot, this year I planted seeds in it...
The ground is wet now and as I'm finishing writing the rain came poring down...

So it is definetely going to be a rainy day so maybe some embroidery,  I have been working
on my pillow case...  Maybe bake something...  Feels like a cold winter's day instead of Spring time...

Have a most lovely day, with love Janice...

From wind to total calmness to windy rain...

The early evening was wonderful yesterday,  it became so calm after some crazy wind for most of the day...  I went out cleaned up the leaves as I often do...  Because when I don't they pile up to much and it seems harder to take care of...  The sky was amazingly lovely... And it was calm as could be...  I wanted to get my seeds in but thought maybe not I'm just getting over being sick so better not...  This weather has stopped me from getting things that I normally have done long ago done...  Silly weather indeed...
I did the day before get this little spot of dirt turned over, my goodness it's takes forever these days to get something done,  more so because of my bad back...  Otherwise I don't believe it would be so hard...  Here I decided to put my lettuce, carrots, green onions, things like that...
I did also manage to get two tomatoes in,  one is a purple variety...  I can not wait to see them...
My Gladiolus are coming up,  but I'm sad because I forgot to put back my Purple ones and they dried up for some reason...  Never had that happen before...

Big white clouds in the evening....
The Garden so clean and peaceful,  I just love it...  My heart is always in the Garden...

Yep, those are rain clouds forming....  Darn...
The little strawberry patch, they are already making strawberries...  My grandson Isaiah loves strawberries so when he saw them his face lit up, but I told them they are not ready yet...  He knows they are red..  So he said ok grandma, he loves the Garden too...

The back part of the Garden where the Lemon tree is...  I so wish there was grass... It would be so nice...
One of my other roses bloomed...  It has another bud on it getting ready to open...  I just had to pick one and bring it in...  Since we are having ugly weather that way I can enjoy it for a while instead to the wind blowing it away...
Here is my latest creation in crocheting...
A little bird, I made it by watching a youtube video,  the woman used these little special rubber bands to make a toy, so I caculated it and crocheted it with yarn...  I'm so happy he came out pretty well with a few minner missed stitches I think...  It was hard to say because she used the bands... i'm happy with the results...
This is where she will sit on a wreath I have made...

Have a most glorious day today...  With much love Janice...
