Fresh Apple Cake from my grandma (Pinterest)

Good morning dearest, I have a recipe for you...  A lovely fresh apple cake that I found on Pinterest few days ago.  I went searching because I have a big bowl full of apples from the garden tree that hangs over my fence..
It is very simple to make just cutting the apple might be a bit time consuming but not much...
I enjoyed the cake very much it is a nice moist cake..  I added a cream cheese frosting to it...  The little pin that I found had said over at the end, it is on a old recipe card, but of course I couldn't turn it over lol...  Maybe it had it's own frosting who knows.  I went to visit the page and it was a flicker account.  But at any rate here's the recipe.  Hope you try it.  I believe you will like it as much as me..

A little piece with some homemade carmel sauce from a recipe I found which is lovely as well.  It is suppose to be for this lovely apple crisp recipe I found which I made as well..

This is Isaiah my grnadson who lives with me...  He is my little helper in the kitchen,  when I was taking pictures he told me grandma take one of me...

The apple crisp...  It was suppose to have vanilla ice cream then drizzle with the carmel sauce...
But I didn't have any and did not wish to go to the store... It is very nice...  It in itself has a carmel tast to it...  Sometimes I bake it relaxes me...  And it did just that...   I will post the apple crisp recipe at a later time...  Thank you for your visit have a lovely Tuesday.      With love Janice

  17. What a lovely, serendipitous moment when I stumbled in from Bernideen's Tea Blog! The title "FRESH APPLE CAKE"---especially the word "fresh" caught my eye. That was one of our favorite sweets in the world, made by my DEAR sweet first Mother-in-Law. And never "I made an apple cake," or "Would you like some Apple Cake?" The recipe was precise: FRESH on the card, Fresh when you said it. Even the little ones would put the whole name in there.

And it seems the absolutely RIGHT recipe that I remember, though the original little box of file cards was taken home by my Sister In Law when DMIL passed away.

And I found you at absolutely the right time---DD has tried to re-create it several times, and mentions it fondly, and she has a birthday coming up this month---won't THIS be the perfect cake to surprise her with!

I'm also a Kindred Spirit re: Victorian, gentler times, sweet things and lace and pale colours of another time (I have an entire new PINK kitchen, longed for since the night decades ago when I painted the walls of my dollhouse kitchen with my Mother's Revlon Pink nail polish).

Thank you for this lovely glimpse into your own beautiful world---I've joined your follow list, and will be back to visit again soon, and I'd love it if you ever had a moment to drop in at LAWN TEA..

rachel (and Janice is a special name to me, as well)
