Green Fried Tomatoes, and Blue..(Long Post)

Good Afternoon ya'll, I been home with my broken back, so to speak...Today I'm feeling much better and ever so grateful...I was able to do some cleaning yesterday but was sore later on though..I always tend to push myself cause there is so much that I want to get done..
I so love this tray, I had like most of my things obtained it off Dad's truck...So miss that...
I have never used it before, just had it as a decoration piece. Funny. Maybe cause I just didn't have the time..And now that I have all the time in the world and are into Tea more than before..
My sweet Tea Pot, from the Asian store...
Would you like a cup of Tea,
As I have been cleaning at the storage, I have found that I have quite a few old Vintage Aprons that I had been collecting...so I washed them and hung them in the kitchen with the rest. My granddaughters love to use them...
I Ironed up a new vintage table cloth and changed the one I had. my carpet by the sink as well and a few other things...I had some turquoise in the kitchen, and now that I found my checkered Blue & White lit carpet at the storage, I changed it all back to Blue & White...
Yesterday in the Garden there were these two large Green tomatoes, and I have always wanted to try Some Green Fried Tomatoes, Have you ever seen the Movie, I love that movie...Anyhow, I thought ya know I'm gonna do it so After refreshing up the kitchen I took out the black skillet and some corn meal and flour...added some salt and black pepper and a dash of Lawry's seasoned salt...Put some Crisco Lard in the black skillet and
started slicing up those green tomatoes
Then frying them up, the most simplest thing it was..
I thought they were pretty good, finally got that done something I kept saying I'm gonna do and hadn't....Nice!!!I really liked them it was kind of like eating a fried pickle.
Later on after I took a hot shower, I flipped on the T.V. and the heating pad...I had remembered that I had all this blue thread and some soft yellow that I originally had my daughter pick up for me for the bathroom..Well that all changed, (the original thoughts for the bathroom doily.) I started a new doily. A new Rose doily. The reason is I lost my needle and didn't have the same size to work on the pink Rose doily...But I was going crazy wanting to crochet...so I dug through my bunch of ones and thought well I don't have the same size but I picked one out and away I went...
Serving up some Blues....
I like the soft yellow Rose, I can't wait to finish up and have them hanging around the edge. I so wanted to finish the Pink Rose one...well maybe today I can get a new needle. But in the mean time this is what I'm doing.
I think I have fallen in love with this pattern...and it's more simpler than I thought...
adding a darker blue around now instead of green...I think I'm going to keep this one for me. I so like the colors and it will go good in the Kitchen or dinning room.
They are both so pretty, and I love the green w/purple as well...
Though these two, will have little roses hanging around the edging of them...And the candy cane line one too...
And now that I understand how to make the Rose, I can make this pot holder one... I was telling my older daughter how it's funny now that I have learned more when I look at other doilies I can say wow I can most likely do this instead of hum I wonder if I can figure it out...I have had this for years as well...I'm so happy that I'm learning more to the fine crocheting world...it pleases me very much..My passion coming true..So one day in the future I will make the attempt to accomplish this small vintage pot holder.
Thank you for joining me today...I hope you enjoyed your cup of Tea...wishing you a great afternoon...with love Janice

Good afternoon..............Warm weather, Crocheted & dishes...

I erased yesterday's post, I went home and it seemed as if everything changed. I care about Jesse, I just don't know I think for the long moment I will leave it all in Gods hands..who knows...I received these cute little crocheted shirt and shorts in white and old blue I call it...in the mail....I only paid 6.00 dollars for them
Aren't they cute...I hope I can figure them out like the dress and make some.
My extra Granny dishes that I found at the storage.
I love this pattern, I think and have always thought of it as the best...I love the Roses....The old blue matches on the dresses. It's a certain type of blue I had found crocheting thread as well a few times...
They look pretty set with blue glasses and other blue items...I have collected them over 30 years and now have all the pieces that I known are made..the only thing that I don't have is the sugar bowl, If ya ever happen to see one pick it up for me please I would gladly pay you for it..
I just love these two new crocheted items..they are adorable....
You see remember last week I purchased the square dishes with the pink edgings, this is what I was talking about...they are very close so If I wanted to dress a pink table with them I could...so sweet. I have to remember to go and pick up the other two..Then I will have six, in all, too bad there wasn't just two more to have a 8 place setting...well I'm really happy to have these...
My duck sitting on the top shelf of my little white hutch..
Here is part of my full little white hutch...I have no more room for anything on it...the bottom holds some blue glass baking dishes, and corning pieces...
Well friends, I guess that's it for today with my back in pain it's a little bit hard to write..I wish you a most lovely evening with love Janice

Victoria, just love it,don't you?

I just love the old Victoria, I love my magazines. I could sit and go over and over them and never tired of them. And day dream, specially the ones that covers blue and white the special blue and white issues....there are so many things to read and see in all of them.
This was an old one, I was gazing through and day dreaming like always I do when I look over them.
I just adore these hanging baskets, I made one but it grew out and I was thinking why mind didn't stay pretty like these...In one of our downtown areas they have these hanging down the streets. I always wanted one....
Everything in vintage form, that's me... who I'am...I don't want to live in the future with flat screen Television and what not...I went to my storage yesterday to go through a couple of boxes and I found some more granny dishes I guess I had got a long time ago...I laughed at me and said, I must have 15 dinner plates I found like five more and a platter which you can never have enough. I also found a blue round refrigerator bowl with a plastic lid and several more blue glass canisters
Two little cute tea cups with no saucers...and other things.
I just wasn't cut out for new things, I wouldn't know where to start...I just adore old vintage things. I realized also yesterday that I had a love for vintage since I was young...My love became larger and bigger when Dad got into the business of cleaning out Estates...Looking through those trucks was living a Victorian magazine...beautiful treasure would pop up I also found this little photo case which had abalone shell on it and you open it up and it has a pretty photo of a woman with gold edging surrounding it. I forgot to bring it with me...but I will return and get it so I can show you...
I can't believe that fall is around the corner...Can you...blustery weather as Pooh would say...pretty fall leaves flying about..

I only have issues from 1993, would love to find some before that...I found a place I went to look on Google while I was writing just for the heck of it...they will cost around 12.00 dollars each....but to me they would be worth it.
Look at this one, it's not available though...
or this one....
O wonder whats inside this one....can you imagine.....
Look at this pretty cover...interesting.
Hummm, wouldn't you just love to curl up on a fluffy chair with a spot of tea and a lovely new Victoria or maybe old Victoria magazine and dream and gaze away....enjoy your afternoon my dear sweet friends...time to go...with love Janice...Thank you so much for your lovely comments...

New plates, and a new doily.........

These are so pretty, I found them the other day at the Love Joys Tea house....I fell in love with them...I know I probably shouldn't have bought them because I paid like $8. a plate..so I only bought four...and put two on layaway. Which they really don't do but she said for me she would cause she always sees me there. They are just like my granny dishes but they have a lovely pink edging then the gold...I could use them with my granny dishes or separately.
My new doily that I started last night, I love the fact that I learned how to make this Rose...so very excited about it...I have a bunch of ideas in my head as usual...
I started making the Red Roses, then this popped up in my mind so I wanted to get it started...I will get this to the point of the Red Rose doily. Then Make all the Roses for both...
I want to make a bunch of these doilies in different colors...I have a soft yellow I want to use. I can see the pretty soft Yellow Roses dangling around the edge...

Then I thought for Easter I would make one with all different color around the edging...

I also have a idea for a jar topper....I started to make it last night but then I said I wanted to do this first then I will put that out later on....

delicate pink roses, soft and warm...

O my Vee is ready so I have to be on my way, I hope that you enjoy your day today...with much love......Janice
