Tired out....

     Hello my dearest...
I'm so very tired from the weekend and more cleaning on Monday.  We cleaned all day Saturday and there is still more.  Though I knew it was going to be a huge task.  It was still amazing.  My mind keeps thinking what was she, mama thinking in her head.  Almost everything is either junk or ruined and that is not the half of it.   But I won't even share that icky part with you.  The good part is how everyone helped which didn't put the work on anyone person.  So it really went well.  Believe it or not we still need another dumpster and maybe a half...  Hopefully thats all.  But I'm beat.  On Monday we did some more because there was still some room left in the dumpster.  So my youngest son yesterday gathered all the wood from the garden and broken pots and added those too, good idea.  Today I'm just sitting on my couch.  Not wanting to move or do anything.  It is all so strange we can actually see in and around the basement now.  You can see the french doors and windows.. And through those french doors a lovely view of the bay..  I hope with Gods help and guidance we are able to fix the house decent..
Today I want to share some new pieces from online that I found by Homer Laughlin...  Blue
Chateau it is so pretty..  I found three soup bowls and a creamer... And I got a great deal..   They match my teacups and saucers...  I will need a few more but I will be patient and wait for them to come online....
I don't believe that they were ever used... They have some tiny flaws but a lot of china did from back then... Just the same though I love the color and the flower motif in the middle...  And well of course they match my teacups..  These don't always come and in this great condition nor at the price I paid...

This is my recent doily that I completed...  I love it..

                   The sweet creamer...

Vintage cloth napkins with delicate embroidery ....

Here is a surprise I received on Sunday afternoon from my daughter in law Ana married to my oldest son...
I have been wanting these for ever...  Macy's had some from Martha..  But I just never got around to it....  Isn't it pretty, and so so very sweet of her to do this.  A very nice surprise after a hard cleaning day..  Later when I went down to close the door in the basement on Saturday, I looked all the way to the back and said wow in my heart and mind and said finally mama...  And I thanked God for this wonderfully productive day...  And closed the door...
It is like a wide dutch oven...  And she bought me the skillet too...  Yep..  She won my heart for ever I told her, but then I told her she always had my heart anyways...
The black skillet ....  Wish mama's house was all finished and I was moving in already...
A lovely vintage table cloth...  I love the blues and turquoise and greenish with red.. Pretty colors together...

I think it is back to resting...  Maybe finish my other doily up...  Watch a movie...  Thank you all for your ecouragement you have no idea how much it means to me,  I thank each and everyone of you from my heart.......
                                 With love, Janice

Friday and Pioneer Woman...

Good Friday morning & pioneer Woman

Hello dearest,
Good day to you.  This morning I thought I would share my Pioneer woman items that I purchased online from Walmart..  I think they are the lovelest pieces.  I always wanted to go check it out but never got to do that and then duh it popped into my head look them up..
So glad that I did..  I always wanted this colander from Macy's but never seem to get there either.  That was like five years ago... Though this is a darker shade I don't mind.  They looked a bit lighter on line..  But they are darker and I would say a richer color...
It is quite large in size..  I thought it would be smaller...  I believe the price was $19.00. Dollars..
I'm loving all the pretty colors...
I also bought this scalloped pie plate so cute,  guess what with daisies on the side.  I love daisies..  They go all around the siding...
Cute.... In my opinion, you know not everyone has the same taste..  I like the fact that she decorated the inner part as well.  Makes it nice so as the pie is being eaten it still looks pretty or like she did she showed putting stuffing in two pie plates different kinds in each... Great idea... So they can be used for several things..

A lovely square gingham dark turquoise tabke cloth.  She has several ones to choose from.  A garden one which I truly want..  I believe these are $13.99. Really yes...  And everything is decent quality..  Doesn't feel like it's going just fall apart when you wash it...
I'am amazed by these GLASS, gobblets not paper thin, but a nice quality...  They are again in my opinion beautiful..  I only ordered one set but are going to order a second set at the price of $13.99 for four I believe... Terrible I should have wrote it down...

The bandana looking item is a table runner red and dark turquoise...  Love it..  She also has different colored glass gobblets and tumblers as well as a ton of other things for the kitchen.  Makes me want to change my whole kitchen sell a lot of my things...  Really considering this!!!  She has mixing bowls just everything for the kitchen...  I'm in love...   I still have a glass pitcher coming to match the gobblets..  And a set of cloth napkins...  I think I've gone mad.. I have a whole list I want.. But it will have to be a little at a time..   Ha my pitcher just arrived and my cloth napkins and the gingham table runner...  Fun...
Vee,  my daughter is making Bisquick pancakes..  Thought we try it, haven't in a long time...  It is all I ever used when my kids were growin up...
Tomorrow we start throwing things out.. The dumpster has arrived..  It is funny all day yesterday I felt strange after I had ordered it.  All my adult life I wanted to throw all the garbage out and I had 22 years ago when I was pregnant with my last child.  But I left and she filled it all up again..  Funny how life changes and you feel different feelings.  I want to throw it out.  But it just feels weird after all these years..  Once and for all it will be gone...  Wishing you all a most wonderful Friday and a most lovely weekend......
With love, ...
Janice...

Fresh Apple Cake from my grandma (Pinterest)

Good morning dearest, I have a recipe for you...  A lovely fresh apple cake that I found on Pinterest few days ago.  I went searching because I have a big bowl full of apples from the garden tree that hangs over my fence..
It is very simple to make just cutting the apple might be a bit time consuming but not much...
I enjoyed the cake very much it is a nice moist cake..  I added a cream cheese frosting to it...  The little pin that I found had said over at the end, it is on a old recipe card, but of course I couldn't turn it over lol...  Maybe it had it's own frosting who knows.  I went to visit the page and it was a flicker account.  But at any rate here's the recipe.  Hope you try it.  I believe you will like it as much as me..

A little piece with some homemade carmel sauce from a recipe I found which is lovely as well.  It is suppose to be for this lovely apple crisp recipe I found which I made as well..

This is Isaiah my grnadson who lives with me...  He is my little helper in the kitchen,  when I was taking pictures he told me grandma take one of me...

The apple crisp...  It was suppose to have vanilla ice cream then drizzle with the carmel sauce...
But I didn't have any and did not wish to go to the store... It is very nice...  It in itself has a carmel tast to it...  Sometimes I bake it relaxes me...  And it did just that...   I will post the apple crisp recipe at a later time...  Thank you for your visit have a lovely Tuesday.      With love Janice

Make mine roses, plz...

M     Can you believe my prior post got totally mess up and deleted..  Yes, well it did...  Good morning dearests,  It is another dreary San Francisco no sunshine morning...  It feels just like fall..  Seems to soon though...  But then again our weather has been so silly, I don't believe I have even seen summer.  It was worse than last summer.  I usually hang laundry out and I really haven't been able to..  Oh dear summer where are you...  Well I was sad my post got deleted but maybe it was just as well.  So I will thank everyone for your kind words and prayers Elcee and Bernideen and all of you...   At one time in my life I was angry, angry even at God can you believe that...  But I was young without my knowledge of life... And even though now I'am pretty much alone besides my children and grandchildren..  I'am content and it seems as the days pass I find a calmness within..  I no longer have to deal with the past.. It is so to speak dead and gone.  I often think that I probably could write a book or at least tell a long story of my life.  It is often said that if I didn't go through what I did I wouldn't be who I'am today.  I'am deeply grateful for the insight and knowledge that I now posses within me.  I thank God for that.  Because he showed me.   Im very grateful for "you" And this blog journey that I have had...  Also your friendship and your kindness...   So though the morning is a bit dreary I want roses...  And since I won't be running off to the store.  i will set a tray of roses before me...  The fire is on for the water kettle...
And my green tray, that seems to be comin unattached is here.  I suppose a bit of glue will tiddy it up...  Later I will do that...
Washing the teapot because it hasn't been in use for a little while..  And I want a nice fresh clean pot...
Ready, I so love this little rose teapot...  It's roses are so delicate...  I have shown it long time ago..  It is from Gracie's ( I found it thrifting with mama...
A matching teacup, and even though I have the matching saucer I changed it to this unknown one...  A sweet ring of little roses and daisies that I love...
A beautiful bowl for my cereal...  These touched my heart the day I found them I believe it was at the teashop, there were two...  After mama first passed on and I was going through boxes we had brought from the storage, I found some other pieces to this pattern..  I was delighted...  The pattern is soft and whispery... They are called California Chintz, Santa Anita ware, made in California...
My tray is set and I'm ready for some sweet hot tea, just a touch of honey and a few drops of little sweet lemon from the tree in mamas garden..  They have the loveliest smell to them...

A rosy teabag holder...  Just right for the occasion...

Awe...  Lovely off to curl up on the sofa for a few moments of me time with my roses...
Wish you could all join me we could sit and chat a while before everyone else awakens...
Soft sweet whispery roses and quietness what more could a lady want...  I hope this Monday starts off to be a great new week for all of us...  With much love Janice...  Ps remember we can make our own sunshine within..  Thank you everyone for your dear visits they are precious to me...

I'm join this party today .......

                            See you there
