The house smells wonderful...

Who doesn't like a house that smell's good, of sweet plums sugar and cinnamon...    I believe everyone love's a smell like that...    O ms Autumn my dear, I love when you come knocking at my door
Bringing behind you that crisp air clean and cozy...
Plum Cake... That's what it is...    Look's and smell's divine...
Had some Plum's sitting about...    It's a bit of a cold day today almost like rain is coming, but
The sun peeps out every so often less than often and there were even a few sprinkles...    So I though
Perfect time to bake...    And I remembered the Plum's...    I remembered as well I had made one few years back and I liked it...    But I decided to see what else was about on line...    I haven't tasted it yet, but it sure smells good...    My mouth is watering as I write thinking of a hot cuppa and a nice slice of
This fresh Plum cake...
      So simple as could be...
Few ingredients and your off...    30 minutes of baking time and there you have it...

                                 Plum Cake

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 9 or 10 large black plums, halved and pitted
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces, plus more for pans

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Butter two 9-inch round cake pans. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar, the milk, oil, and egg. Fold into flour mixture.

  2. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans, and smooth tops. Arrange plums, cut sides up, over batter.

  3. Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar, and sprinkle over plums. Dot with butter. Bake until tops are dark golden, plums are soft, and a toothpick inserted into center of cakes comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool. (Cakes are best the day you make them; leftover cake is great for breakfast the next day.)

    From Martha's Kitchen...

I added Almond slice's to one...    Ready to taste ok hold on...
Afternoon Tea, with Plum cake....    I think you should try it your surely going to like it...

Last bits....   Ummmm so delicious...     I ate the one that I put the sliced Almonds on and I like
It  and I sprinkled a bit of the sugar/cinnamon around the cake slightly...    It's a winner in my book
Will be lovely for tea...    Enjoy my friends...    Now to clean up...    Have a enchanting afternoon...
                             With love...
                                    Janice...
