I have been embroidering on two different things... This piece I found when I was thrifting... Funny thing I saw it the other day when I went with my daughter but I had left it behind..
So day before she had a appointment so I was going with her to keep her company.. She called to tell them she was running late and they replied she no longer needed to come.. So we went to the thrift store again since we were out and close by... And I ran across it again but in a different area so home she came with me and later I realized how big the piece was. I had thought it was a large dish towel, but actually it like a small tablecloth size... But, it only has this one transfer on it... So I have some ideas for it..
I really love this little dutch girl... I have some pieces from Holland.. Little blue and white dutch shoes, little vases some salt pepper people... A few tiles... And some other things...
She is almost finished... I believe I have some dutch girl transfers in my stash of transfers... I want to add some to the other corners of the piece and probably crochet the edgings... It is a good project for the winter months and I also I have the run er to finish. And some other things I got my self another set of pillow cases already stamped... I found those on line...
I did a tad more on this runner... But there is quite a bit more to do.. So usually what I do is switch back and forth when I get bored with one I will switch to the other or crochet.. Lol eventually I will be complete one or the other...
I might get her finished today... I want to redo the little white tulip... It was so hard to see in mamas kitchen in the evening hours... The stitches look bad and need to be re-did... What are you all up to this Saturday morning... So I believe that all for now... I'm going to try to go about to make blog visits... If I haben't been to your blog It is not because I don't want to, it is just hard to reach everyone and remember everyone.. I want to make a list of the blogs that still are because since I first started many blogs have stop producing... So that is on my agenda... Wishing you all a most lovely day and weekend, with love Janiceππππππππππππ
It is the most lovely cook book ever the pages are beautiful.. And the recipes look good... Sound good...
Amazing pages who wouldn't want this book.... Pretty warm and such a cozy feeling..... I would like to have this for wall paper... Honest, I have wanted wall paper in a room forever, when you rent thats not possible... But since I own mamas house now ... Gosh I've never really said that.. Any how I hope one day it is possible...
I also found two Mary Elgelbriet cook books, I adore Mary... And I truly miss her magazine...

I love mary's designs... So cute and sweet...
Chive and cheddar biscuits...
Here is the second one it's outter jacket is a bit beat up the first one is perfect ... But they are both mint inside.... I will tape this one up a bit and try to keep the jacket on...
This page shows a recipe for ginger-garlic bread... Interesting...
Mary is very vintage.. I love old glass frig keepers...
Sound interesting tooo... Might be nice for a tea party...
Yummmy.... Tomato feast with feta and olives... A few things tht I love...
Delishious couscous salad...
Well that is enough of mary I'm sure my post is to long already... But I also got a Taste Of Home 2005 recipe cookbook .... Mama had many magazines.. And I actually found some lovely recipes that I cut out and put in a binder book.. But now I found a whole book... I haven't looked through it yet just a quick thumb through... Last book a older Mexican cookbook by Sunset... I have one which I bet I got 38 years ago... This one is different which I like... I over the years cooked many mexican dishes and dishes from El Salvador.. My first husband was latin, Mexican and the second was from El Salvador.. But I like to see other recipes and the differences...
Ok, that's it.. I hope this ps lol wasn't to long for you... Bye now enjoy your day...ππππππ

Your little Dutch girl is so pretty. I love your embroidery, Janice. That first cook book is amazing. LOVE those glorious illustrations. How beautiful they would look pasted on a wall as wall paper! Love the Mary Engelbreit recipe book, too. Her illustrations are always fun, cheery and sweet. Have the most wonderful day, lovely Janice!
ReplyDeleteDear Janice:
ReplyDeleteI came back to tell you the Forget Me Nots don't bloom till the 2nd year. Then they mostly reseed. Have a lovely weekend!
Oh your little miss is adorable. You do such nice work too. Makes me want to do some more embroidery work. I haven't done any crafting or quilting since August...just haven't been up for it with medical stuff. I do like cookbooks too! You have some dandies.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your weekend.
After reading Bernideen's comment above, I though how wonderful the blogging community is to share info where it may be needed. I thought your stitching was perfect, such tiny stitches. wonderful really. I use to love Mary's magazine too and kept every copy. When I wanted to reduce the number of magazines I carted around (like a zillion), I carefully torn out my favorite pages and put them in protective sleeves in binders. I reduce those every once in a while, but never let any of Mary's fabulous rooms go!
ReplyDeleteI visited my parents today and then took my sweet Mum shopping. Love the dutch girl table cloth, a great find. You certainly have some great cook books. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThe cook books are darling!! I love the stamped embroidery!! I used to do a lot of that a long time ago but it seems that those type of kits are hard to find now.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to visit!!
Hugs,
Deb

Your embroidery piece is just darling, Janice, and I look forward to seeing how you complete it. You also found quite a few treasures. I love cookbooks, too, and that first one that you shared, I gave to my daughter. I have three others by that same cookbook author.
ReplyDeleteThank you for following me! I thought I was following you, too, but when I checked, I hadn't. I am now!! Happy Halloween to you, Janice!
