I'm sitting on that ole couch again, waiting for the water to boil for tea... I was hard at work cleaning all day.. I was away as you know at mamas house for a few days my son brought me home Saturday evening which was nice. My daughter left things a stinky mess Sunday was church and I try to abid by the sabbath... So I left things for today... I scrubbed the bathroom clean the kitchen sweep and mopped kitchen and bathroom.. Moved things about to clean behind and under... Winter will be here soon so I gave it all a good cleaning.. This ole house get dusty and damp at times... I also raked up some leaves because tomorrow is my garbage day... They come early morning so I filed it up our green recycle bin that is and came back in to cook dinner for myself..
And make some tea... I hadn't had tea in the morning like I usually do.. This is a new teapot, the funny thing is I thought it was cream color where the top is, not blue.. There was no mention of it being blue and the photo showed it cream... I was quite surprised when I opened the box... But I actually love it...
So I set out to make a tray and I did just that... Another funny thing I got so busy I never drank that tea till way later.. I kept telling myself I was, but said ok in a minute, but I ended up doing the laundry and other things... Then decided Id take a shower before I cooked... That way I cook just eat and relax.. I know me after my back is done and it will be so hard to take a shower..
So pretty in my opinion... Love the roses so much...
Little flowers are still about in the garden.... Teenie tiny pansies...
And that sweet bird napkin ring...
My blue little fairy joined me for tea.... She said it was the perfect time... The house was quiet and no one was home but us....
A sprig of rosemary for the chicken that we will make. The tree is full outside...
I so love a pretty tray... It always makes me feel good... The garden is totally off limits it is muddy after all the days of rain, so tea has to be inside...I saw worms icky worms... Funny again, when I was little and I would visit my Uncle and Aunt who lived up north from San Francisco about 300 somethin milles in McCloud Ca. He would water the lawn so what they call night crawlers, big fat worms would come out and we would pull them out of the lawn for fishing... We would fish for trout frah cold water trout... Gosh what ever made me do that.. Lol I wouldn't do that now if you paid me to.. Things you do as a kid... I also ran around barefooted during the summer the temps were always in their 100's. Then one day I got a huge sliver from one end of my foot to the other... My auntie was so upset and boy so was I lol... I wore shoes for a while but, not for long.. The most amazing days.. I just talked to them on Saturday, she is now 80 he is 84... Bless them they been together forever.. He told me I can't chop those trees down no more and it drives me nuts he said but, good thing Donnie, their son, takes care of it all now.. McCloud is way up in the mountains near Mt.Shasta. All my dads family had moved up there from here.. There were ten siblings one died at birth.. And he was the only one and one sister who stayed here in San Francisco.. Dad was a city boy. Up there it snows roof top high.. So many memories.. Well, it is late now around 8:16 pm.. I'm once again waiting for the water to boil for tea. But my evening tea vanilla chamomile..
I hope you had a wonderful day today.... O my it's raining again.. .. . . ☔️π§☔️. I hope also that you have a wonderful new week.. I'm off to claim my tea and maybe do a bit of embroidery I did't get to finish my dutch girl... So I will work on that... Good evening... May we all be watched over and blessed ...

It was suppose to be yesterday but I joined today stop by for a visit..
Loved the teapot, the blue and the flowers were stunning. You certainly make up a beautiful tray.
ReplyDeleteDoes it rain a lot in San Francisco? I always picture it sunny.
ReplyDeleteLove the teapot!
I wonder if the cream-blue mystery was something along the lines of that blue-black/cream-gold dress recently. It was some kind of illusion.
Your tea pot is stunning and goes well with your pretty tray all set up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very busy day for you. One always feels as though much was accomplished after a good day of cleaning.
I too love to get the house ready for the winter months with a good clean, still need to do that.
We are getting rain right now but I believe we may wake up to snow tomorrow morning. :-)
Bless you~~

This is such a good post. I've done that before too...make coffee or tea and then get busy and forget to drink it. I can picture how nice it must have felt to get everything cleaned up and enjoy time alone. There's nothing like it. Your teapot is very pretty. I've never had tea made in a pretty teapot, or made a pretty tea tray. Maybe I should learn how. I loved reading about your childhood and going barefoot and fishing with worms.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good house cleaning to make you feel like you've accomplished something! Your new teapot is charming. I really like the blue & brown together, and actually have both blue and brown dishes displayed in my kitchen. I love little brown teapots! We used to be barefoot much of the summer too, unless we left our property then shoes were put on and they always felt so tight! Enjoy the rest of your week.
