Good Afternoon, Jade Tea cups.....Roses and Grandmother Mary...

I only have just a few pieces, two tea cups and saucers and four dinner plates, one fruit bowl and a cracked bowl...hum must have happened during moving very upset about it,... I love Jade haven't a clue why I haven't gotten more pieces...
But since I had moved the Cabinets around in the Dinning area, I took out the tea cups and used them the other morning...
I really really like them..It reminds me of my Grandmother Mary...she had the coffee cups and it always stuck inside my heart....
When I was really young she lived in San Francisco, up this bunch of stairs ... they were inside and when you went straight to the top the Kitchen was in front of you if you went up the stairs and turned to the left and walk down the hall to the right was the Living Room...the bedroom was back next to the Kitchen....
Later she move to the Russian River up in the mountains to a Cabin with a Creek running along side of it ...
They also look pretty with these plates...I love the Roses... I wish I had a whole set to them both...
Sometimes I like a little bit of cream in my Tea...and vanilla sugar just a touch...I had a piece of Currant Scone left so I ate that with my morning Tea...
I have the Creamer in the Rose Pattern, I have a large platter and two Tea Cups and saucers...several small plates and some fruit bowls...They would in my opinion due well with the Jade plates etc...
It's funny what things reminds you of your past...I also remember taking a bath in the Kitchen in a large oval tin my Grandmother would boil the water on the Stove... I remember my brother having Poison Oak and he was swelled up like a balloon and was all icky... He had to go the hospital ... we used to go the river and catch water dogs they called them ... it was a great place ... she later moved down to the town which was even better she was rite across the street from the River again but where they would dam it up and we could go swimming... that's where I learned how to swim this older woman taught me and my friend ... I think were around 10 years old ... so many stories up there...my Grandmother died when I was around 15 or 16 ... I miss those days, those are days warm and cozy that I wish would have lasted forever ... I'm sure you have those memories too...
My bowl that has the crack...im so sad...
Hugs for a great afternoon..with love Janice...

  1. Those are very pretty. I don't have any tea sets AT ALL. Maybe one day...I don't have room for them now, anyway! God bless.

  2. What lovely teacups, such a pretty green colour to them. It is nice that they remind your of your grandmother as well, it sounds like it brings back good memories :)

  3. Janice, Your blog is really beautiful. It's so feminine and floral. I love your jadeite items. Someone else featured jadeite in her tea post this week too. By the way, I googled jadeite and there are lots of opportunities to purchase additional pieces on ebay.
    Hugs, Beth

  4. Your jadeite pieces are lovely! I agree, they look great with other pieces of china. One of the most wonderful things about Green is that it mixes and matches with just about anything. And such dear memories of time spent with your Grandmother.
