I'm drained today. Yesterday day was a emotional day for me and it just drained me out. The last vew days have been nice here in San Francisco, but this morning it looks as if it wants to rain... And the way I feel that is just fine for me. I took off the shelf my Gracie teapot which I dearly love with it's soft blue and it's sweet rose buds all over...
It is one of my first teapots I bought and I'm sure I've mentioned this in the past... And it was the first full set I ever bought.. Myself I tend to buy pieces here and there mix matching matching etc...
This morning I'm taking tea with a spot of honey instead of a pinch of sugar... I have gotten my self to where I barely use sugar at all...sometimes it is just a wee sprinkle of sugar and in the evening time I use nothing..
Yesterday I was at mamas house most of you know that my oldest daughter stays there at the moment... But, anyways I was in the room that used to be my dad's it's where I put a bunch of things that I think I might want to keep and honestly I don't even remember what I put in there.. So Iwas snooping around and I found this contact paper ... Do people still use this ... Well I brought it home to do I don't have a clue what with... But, this morning I decided to cover this tray at the bottom... I think it is sweet... Mama like it...
It works for me...
The matching sugar bowl.... I love it, this pattern on the sugar bowl...
Do you own any corning ware, I do and mama has pieces at her house... I have had it for years and mine is the blue corn flower... I have always liked it....
I'am always surfing around online some place some where and I saw this piece which I don't have but then in my mind I remembered I have it at mamas house in my dish cabinet there... And the handle piece I have had two here forever and never used them...
This piece is a sauce pan with measuring inside maybe when your doing things that have to do with baking etc... Not real sure though... But at any rate I'm glad I found it all... The handle is neat it took a second to figure it out, the very end turns and you connect it to the lip then turn it back to lock it in place... The things they made back when, today just does not compare at all... These are older than me pretty much.. .
This pot I use everyday for boiling my water.. . Found it at a Goodwill across the bay six years ago when I lived there. I love the crisp White and the sweet Blue corn flower motif...
Eventually I will be selling some pieces, even though my heart doesn't want to it is logical I don't need them all. So I will pick out what I need and off with the rest.. .
This is so cute, a little lotus flower tiny dish, I got it at that same store. Think it is great for your tea bag or spoon at teatime... I want to go back there soon... Well, I think I'm going to park on my couch for a while do some crocheting and relax.. I wish you all a most enchanting day filled with love and affection... With love ... . Janice
Hi Janice! I have not seen this Gracie pattern but, I love it! What a great find. I like that little lotus dish too. I noticed my picture in your blog wallpaper. I have not seen anyone use it like that. It looks very nice there. You should link this post up to the Home Sweet Home party tomorrow and I will feature it. I so love tea and it always captures my attention in photos. Yours are beautiful! Have a nice weekend!

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of your blog. It leaves me feeling like I've spent the day with a friend.
So sorry you are feeling out of sorts, hope you feel a little better soon. Love the delicate shade of blue used to compliment the tea set. It is really delightful the way that you have lined the beautiful tray. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Janice. That picture is fine where you have it. Thanks for asking.

Sherry
Dear Janice:
ReplyDeleteThe blue corning ware pieces look like they would be very helpful. I can see the little one for melting butter or making a sauce. Because of my former shop, I remember the Gracie pretty pattern as one from Coastline. Coastline puts the Gracie label on all their items. Hope you get some rest. We have temps in the 90's that makes one tired!
What a cute little teapot, and I had to smile, because my little puppy's name is Gracie. Just a name for cute things, I guess.
ReplyDeleteLove those blue doilies. Perfect accompaniment to the Gracie tea things.

Hi Janice, Good Morning!! Love your pretty teapot and the contact paper was perfect to make a gorgeous tray. It goes perfectly with your teapot!! I have a few treasured pieces of the Corning ware in the blue cornflower design. It was my mother's and I love it and cherish the few pieces I have. I always loved those handles too. I don't have one, but maybe one day I'll find one thrifting. Enjoy the weekend ahead and blessings to you. xo
ReplyDeleteI love that beautiful teaset, especially on the crocheted doily and also the contact paper, they all have the same wonderful shades of blue.
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Janice! Ah, what a beautiful post! I found your beautiful blue dishes and accents to be quite lovely and just what I needed to see this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you, dear one. Take care and enjoy the weekend. Hugs!
