Well what do you think, this is a Homer Laughlin Tea Pot probably from the 40's It's called Eggshell Empire Grey Cavalier Red/Pink Blossom. I like it so I purchased it the night before well they wanted 29.99 or best offer so I sent a 20.00 offer and I didn't think the person would go for it being that it was almost 10.dollar drop in price.. but they did so now it's finding it's way to my home.. I like it's lite grey on the bottom, and the Huge flower blossom in pink.. the top, the lid has lite grey as well then the off white continues to the top.. I really can't wait to make tea in it.. If fact, I was thinking that I could use my pink depression glass dishes as well with this...
This very same Tea pot is for sale on another site for 95.00 dollars.. wow..cool, now I'm really excited I purchased it for 20.00 dollars..
O my gosh they also just had a 4 place setting with everything sugar bowl and creamer for 59.00 but I can't afford that right now.. Sigh... maybe next time ( heart beating fast )
I have a nice Grey with Red and maybe some Pink vintage table cloth, I'm thinking this will look really nice on it.. so I think I will just focus on getting some Tea cups first..
Listing is for, 6 Dinner Plates (10.25"), 6 Square Salad Plates (7.75"), 6 Bread and Butter Plates (6.25").
For 34.00 dollars.. O my just found this.. I really love the square plates..
This listing says they were Made in the fall of 1953 by Homer Laughlin
Well we will see, I really want to purchase these I looked all morning for some other pieces and there aren't any .. so It's a huge possibility I'm going to purchase these more so for the square plates..
I also wanted to share this with you that I found this morning quoted: O I forgot where darn it I'm sorry, but anyhow it's very sweet..
DRINKIN' FROM MY SAUCER
*
I've never made a fortune
And it's prob'ly too late now;
But I don't worry 'bout that much,
I'm happy anyhow!
And as I go along life's way
Reapin' better than I sowed.
I'm drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!
Haven't got a lot of riches,
And sometimes the going's tough;
But I've got loving ones around me,
And that makes me rich enough!
I thank God for His blessings
And the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!
I 'member times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin;
But all at once the dark clouds broke
And light peeped through again.
So, Lord, help me not to gripe
About tough rows I've hoed.
I'm drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!
If God gives me strength and courage
When the way grows steep and rough,
I'll not ask for other blessings;
I'm already blessed enough!
May I never be too busy
To help others bear their loads.
I'll keep drinkin' from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed!
With Love Janice
Happy Sunday
