Truly I enjoy when I read your sweet comments.. Things have been busy with Mom in the hospital. She has been there for quit a while now.  and maybe she will be coming home tomorrow.. I have basically been home attending church and having my bible study.. which is wonderful for me. Today I thought that I would just share one of my mix match cup and saucers..

It's from Austria...

The saucer is very interesting... It has scalloped edging... so sweet.. it looks as if they were leaves going around.. with whispery roses ..

The cup didn't belong to it.. but it seem to match perfect with the same whispery roses...

A lovely late nite tea.... then off to bed.. I hope you are all doing well sorry I haven't been able to visit much I'm sure soon as Mom comes home I will have more time to be here and visit.. Wishing you all a lovely evening and a wonderful new week.. Be back soon

Just a few little things.. Cleaning the dresser...

Good wonderful morning .....
I found this round mirror in mom's attic.. So I took it home and cleaned it up a bit.. placed my perfume bottles on it.. I love perfume bottles.. some where I have a collection of old ones little ones..

I love this oval dresser mirror, I love the lace inside it makes it very antique ...

Putting a fresh new white dresser scarf and a white with white & pink edging over that..

One of my favorite little pieces.. with the Lord's Prayer..

I love the Pink Roses on the side..

It always feels so good to clean things in my house it brings such a pleasure to have a very clean house... been sort of spring cleaning .. except it Autumn cleaning.. No one is there with me these days.. and my house is whistle clean... I wanted to share this scone recipe that  I got for Oatmeal Scones from
                      Carolyn from Aiken House...                http://warrengrovegarden.blogspot.com/

                                           Oatmeal Scones
1 1/2 cups of flour- I usually use part spelt and part unbleached white flour
                        1/2 cup of rolled oats
                        1/3 sugar
                        1 Tablespoon baking powder

                        1/3 cup of melted butter
                        1 egg
                        1/3 cup of milk

whisk dry ingredients together and then whisk liquid ingred. and add to dry.
mix gently together - knead a few times then flatten into a circle about 1/2 inch thick.
                        Place on cookie sheet.

Sprinkle top with a tablespoon  of sugar or sugar and cinnamon.
Bake at 375 for about 15 min.

Officially Autumn

~*` It will officially be Autumn tomorrow Sunday `*~
September 22, 2013
Isn't it wonderful...
this is a Photo of my Homer Laughlin Theme Pattern..
I love it.  I think it's perfect for Autumn

I adore the Theme Pattern... Yellow I want to call them corn flowesr a Pink Rosey flower.. and a tiny almost like forget me knots flowers... Sweet green leaves...

The sugar bowl is fully decorated, so lovely even with a flower on top ..

They are luscious,  just dreamy and creamy in color........the embossed edging is so wonderful..

The Tea cups and saucers are fully decorated as well.. I just love the feeling of them.. They feel so Victorian.. Can you imagine who used them and what the table talk was.. how the women looked.. we they just a little old fashioned. And the fact is they were made in the 1940's but they seem so further back in time..

Truly I love this pattern and I'm so please that I had purchased it.. The set is almost complete only missing a hard to find matching Tea pot... and some square plates and I'm not sure it has flat soup bowls to it I haven't been able to find any showing.. I had found one Tea pot sold, and four square plates to purchase with one having a tiny chip.. Not sure if I will purchase them, but I'm considering it.. they might be hard to find soon..

Wishing you all a most Lovely Day today and a Enchanting for Day of Autumn Sunday.. with love and beauty.............

~*` Its arrived........................ Victoria, Welcomes Autumn................................ `*~
Be back soon till then have a wonderful weekend.. I will be spending mine at Home with Sweetpea and Church on Sunday afternoon... Blessings to you all .......

My Lemon Tarts sharing with you...

                                          ~*` My Lemon Tarts `*~

3 Eggs
5 Tablespoons of Butter, melted
1 cup of Sugar
The Juice and Finely Grated zest of two Lemons

To make the Lemon curd, In the top of a double boiler, (with simmering water below)

NOte: They don't tell you but you have to have a pot that is Stainless Steel and a rubber whisk or plastic spoon or it will taste like metal. the bottom pot don't matter.  They also didn't tell you in this recipe that you need to cook it for at least 25 minutes for it to get thickened.. I had to search for it..

Continued recipe:
beat the Eggs into the melted Butter. Then stir in the Sugar.
Beat until thoroughly combined
Add the Lemon Juice and rind gradually
cook until thicken, stirring constantly
this takes about 25 minutes..
Let cool before pouring into the baked tart shells
(If you have extra you can store it in the Refrigerator for a week a and used as a spread on bread or cookies)

So here is further information:

This recipe only made those three tarts.. so if you want more you have to double the recipe. The tarts that I have here above are about four inches across.

Next recipe:

Pie Crust
A simple crust fast and simple..

One cup of Flour
two heaping tablespoon's of Lard
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup of cold Water

Place all ingredients except for water...in a mixing bowl.. mix until you produce a flour as a fine cornmeal..
Add a little water at a time about 1/4 cup until mixture will hold together.  Roll out very thin on a floured counter top.. cut out size to your preference,  you can also put the crust in muffin tins
make sure you cute enough to cover the sides of your tart pans or muffin tins. .

NOte:

Same thing with this recipe, It only makes the three tart shells shells above. So if you want more you have to double this recipe.. but it's a simple recipe..

I hope that you give this a try and that you enjoy it. I had lots of fun making these going to do it again maybe some smaller ones for a tea  party..
doesn't this look devine a yellow tea party..

Busy Blue & White Kitchen...

I have been home for several days now just enjoying my house so much. While I was there I made a few changes... I had been at my storage as well... and  to my surprise I found a white small tea pot..
I kept thinking in the back of my mind that I had one, but didn't have a clue where.. I wanted to buy one but I couldn't seem to find any one that I wanted..
this is a plain one and small which is fine .. It fit right in to my kitchen

I put a pretty Blue & White chinese plate underneath and grabbed my Blue & White willow Sugar  & Creamer and my chinese Blue & White tea cup and saucer.. I was ready for tea.. after fooling around in the storage for several hours.. Plus I had brought some of it home to go through it...

I don't have a lid to my sugar bowl, I'm hoping one day I will find one.. I have another blue and white top different pattern and it actually fits.. it belongs to something else though but I thought I could if needed.

It's a neat little tea pot.. it has a ceramic strainer inside for your tea but I just put a tea bag in of decafe.. I haven't really found a decafe tea in bulk that I like ..

My leaf from last year I had it pressing all this time..
It came out perfect. It's been inside my favorite Garden book..

I love all the pretty photos and pockets to put seeds and press leaves

Places to write notes..

Have a great day ... with love Janice..
